About the Author

I’m an artist and writer drawn to tiny moments of wonder — rainbow colours in dew and iridescent sunbeams shining through leaves.

I have a background in hypnotherapy and a personal meditation practice that has shaped my life for over twenty years. This work has taught me meditation doesn’t need to be formal or complicated. At its heart, it’s about being aware of breath, sensation, colour, sound, light and the feelings within us — and allowing those moments to anchor us in the present.

My books introduce mindfulness to children through imagination, colour and everyday moments. When children learn to notice small wonders early on, it becomes part of how they move through the world — supporting emotional wellbeing, creativity and  awareness.

I don’t strive for perfection in my illustrations and that choice is intentional. I want my work to feel accessible, alive and something a child can imagine creating for themselves.

Nilla Stories are designed to be read slowly, returned to and carried beyond the pages into everyday life. They invite mindfulness through imagery, rhythm and a way of noticing tiny moments of sparkling joy in the ordinary world.

Although written for children, many adults enjoy my books too. Perhaps that’s because we all carry an inner child who finds slowing down wonderful.
